Since working on the a new project, I have been worried about my self-value.

I have been a programmer for 15+ years, and this is the first time working as a marketing man. The difference between a programmer and a marketing man is similar to an inventor and a businessman. I am not too fond of the money-first value system In my heart, so I always prefer a programming job when there is an option.

Like a giant chess play game, A whole life, if you think further, you get better, and every step matters. This is also true for a project. Last week, we open-sourced the project public and reached the No.1 trending public repository on GitHub worldwide. We’re shocked and honored to be No.1 for lasting three days. Look back, maybe we did something right, like:

• Fill the profiles of mainstream social media, such as Linkedin, FB, Crunchbase, etc.
• Publish a good documentation website
• Write a rich README.md on GitHub
• A good article that can describe the project clearly
• Engage with our community
• Reply to the comments on social media on time

But we could do better, if:

• Prepare the FAQ before publishing the post to social media
• Make good refer to destinations in your blogs or posts
• Consider deeper what’s the purpose of the launching

The number of stargazers is not the end goal but it’s a good metric to check if the launch is good enough.
